MEETING ERASMUS STUDENTS FROM KLAIPĖDA UNIVERSITY
Students from various European countries and even People's Republic of China were doing their Erasmus studies in Klaipėda university during the spring semester 2014. Turkish, Spanish, Latvians, Belgians, Czechs, Italians and one Chinese student caused attention of local people by giving a smile or asking for help in a food store. So now they showed their appreciation by giving us a good word.The ERASMUS programme is a European student exchange programme established in 1987 offering university students a possibility of studying or working abroad in another European country for a period of at least 3 months and maximum 12 months. The name of the project refers to Dutch Renaissance humanist and theologian Desiderius Erasmus of Rotterdam. Since 2007 the Erasmus project is a part of The Lifelong Learning Programme, which is determined for the years 2007-2013.
AFTERNOON IN KAUNAS OLD TOWN
November 7th, 14:00 foreign students of ASU were gathering in Kaunas City Hall Square accompanied by Lithuanian students and the lecturer of Centre of Languages Eduardas Malevičius. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the foreign students with mostly visited places in Kaunas and to encourage communication between the students. The tour started with the visit to Kaunas City Hall and continued with visits to most famous places of Kaunas Old Town, Communications History Museum, Lithuanian Sports Museum, Embankment of river Nemunas, Vytautas' the Great Church of the Assumption of The Holy Virgin Mary, Kaunas Cathedral Basilica, Kaunas Castle, Maironis sculpture. During the tour the conversations were also in Lithuanian because foreign students are willing to improve their Lithuanian language skills. All the participants were active, curious to learn about Kaunas and Lithuania. Everybody admitted that they have already tried not only Lithuanian beer but also Lithuanian national dish – cepelinai. The afternoon finished with a fun dinner in Shepherd's Inn (Bernelių užeiga) where it was decided to visit Vilnius the next time. Foreign students are saying "THANK YOU" to Lithuanian students, colleagues fromASU, lecturers from Centre of Languages and administration of ASU for a great chance to get acquainted with the city of their studies – Kaunas.
AMBER & JADE OPENING CEREMONY
26-05-2014 Today, officially opened the second Lithuanian and Chinese high school entrepreneurship education program Amber & Jade.During the intense two-week program, students of China, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal and other countries will create real innovation for Lithuanian businesses and gain essential experience of creating for the professional multicultural activities in the global market.All participants welcomed people's Republic of China Ambassador to Lithuania, His Excellency Liu Zengwen. Participants also welcomed the CEO of International Law and Business School Daiva Daugviliene, CEO of Lithuanian Business Confederation Algimantas Akstinas, Lithuania Hotels and Restaurants Association president Evalda Siskauskiene, Amber and Jade Coordinator Chinese education service center Tony Chen and International School of Law and business Head of Communication study program Raimondas Paskevicius.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION FOR ERASMUS+ ARE NOW OPEN
We would like to invite the 2nd and 3rd year students of ISLB to aply for the participation in the Erasmus+ Exchange programme. The application for Erasmus+ studies autumn semester for 2014-2015 academic year starts on the 8th of May, 2014. The deadline of submission of applications is 16th of May, 2014. You can submit them in the International relations and project management centre, room 505. The documents required: application form. covering letter (in English or any other language of studies). The informative seminars will be held on the 22nd of May (Thursday), auditorium 5 at 10.15 am and at 1.30 pm. Erasmus+ students exchange programme is coordinated by the International relations and project management centre.
